All the members of the Amaikha family use two modes of speech at a time – that of children and that of adults. Although sharing this peculiar behaviour and a great deal of other characteristics, they have different voices and personalities – stable, naughty, playful, respectable or funny – depending on their weight or style. Balanced, good-tempered and a bit mischievous sometimes (they cannot hide the child they have inside), they are confident, elegant and friendly letterforms. Their distant relatives – the lively Greek, the sturdy Cyrillic, the sensual Arabic and the geometric Tifinagh – echo those features in different ways.
This is the Amaikha family. Initially thought for the kind of books that appeal and delight both kids and grown-ups, even if they find them attractive for different reasons. It would be an appropriate choice for stories like The Little Prince, Shrek or The Simpsons. Amaikha could also fit in books for teenagers as they are in this uneasy and uncertain age when one is neither a child nor an adult.
